Dermal Fillers

Dermal filler consists of hyaluronic acid (HA) a substance that occurs naturally in the body. HA holds water therefore naturally hydrates and adds volume to the skin. Modern day HA fillers are much more safer than previous fillers that contained ingredients such as silicone. As we age the production of HA diminishes causing volume loss, this paired with loss of elasticity causes sagging of the skin. Through the process of aging fat pads begin to move and separate, dermal filler can help replace this deficit. Filler. Using HA filler we can restore a youthful appearance, rejuvenate the skin, restore lost volume, enhance and define facial shape & profile.

  • Marrionettes (Mouth to chin lines) - improve sagging and volume loss at mouth corners or mouth to chin lines by adding structural support and hydration

  • Chin filler - to improve a retracted chin and balance facial proportions and profile, to round and feminise the chin in females or square and define in males

Treatment & Longevity

A thorough consultation and assessment is always carried out before all treatments to check suitability for treatment, to discuss risks and expectations of outcomes. If suitable, topical numbing cream is always used on treatment area before injecting and all products have a numbing agent mixed into the HA filler syringe to make the injecting process as comfortable as possible. After treatment arnica gel will be applied while after care is discussed. Onset of action is immediate but improves once swelling subsides and filler settles. Results last 6-18months on average depending on individual metabolism, lifestyle factors, area treated, type and amount of filler used.

Aftercare

  • No makeup for 12 hours after dermal fillers

  • Take an antihistamine to help reduce swelling reaction post treatment. The treated area may feel sore and tender when numbing has worn off paracetamol can be taken to relieve pain.

  • Apply Arnica cream or gel to treatment area if bruised

  • No spectacles or sunglasses to rest on bridge of nose for 48hrs post non surgical rhinoplasty

  • At night try to have head slightly elevated and lie on back if possible 48hrs after facial fillers

  • Avoid vigorous exercise, alcohol, sunbeds and heat until any swelling and redness has subsided minimum 72 hrs

  • Avoid Blood thinners & NSAIDs such as: Aspirin, ibuprofen & Naproxen for at least 48 hrs post treatment
